Ash: Emma K.’s Haunted Journal
Step into a real-life case study of childhood schizophrenia and witness a young mind’s descent into darkness—then turn it into your next unforgettable performance.
A GENUINE NIMH CASE STUDY
In 1960, nine-year-old Emma K. seemed like any other child—socially awkward, but otherwise unremarkable. Gifted a journal that Christmas, she barely wrote… until tragedy struck in late February, when her father died in a car accident.
Acquired in 1975 by a National Institute of Mental Health psychiatrist, Emma’s original journal was published in hardcover in 1979. What you hold is a faithful reproduction of her handwritten entries and raw, haunting sketches.
A CHILLING PSYCHOLOGICAL JOURNEY
This linear narrative immerses both you and your audience in Emma’s fragile psyche.
INTERACTIVE BOOK TEST & ART PIECE
Transform this magical artifact into a mind-blowing routine:
You never ask for a date or entry number. The journal does all the work.
WHAT YOU’LL RECEIVE
Ash is more than a book test—it’s an evocative art piece that blurs the line between mentalism and genuine psychological horror.
Information about the tape.
Ash Tape:
The tape works for the anchor hit and two days before the anchor. Depending which they land on you play that side of the tape
Ash Audio is approx. 45 seconds with two sides to the tape: Side A will do the “Anchor Hit” and Side B will do the “Two Days Before the Anchor Hit.”
In Ash, there are three reveals. Anchor hit, two days before anchor, 1 day after anchor. The 1 day after anchor to me is the most vague and that is why I don’t utilize it.
What I have done is read through entire diary and summarized all the hits into a short audio. Therefore, if it is an anchor hit the audio covers all diary entries for audio hit. If it is a two days before anchor hit the audio covers all the diary entries for the two days before the anchor (summarized).
This eliminates memory! All you have to do is know Side A of tape is Anchor hit, side B is two days before. This is how you put the tape in to play.
When I say side A or Side B it is referring to that specified side as “being face up.”
